Project overview and objectives

Portfolios are an excellent approach to demonstrate the skills you would include on a Résumé or discuss in an interview; they allow you to show rather than tell. During a job search, the portfolio shows potential employers your work. It demonstrates your applicable talents and abilities. Is similar to a showroom for your work and will assist you in selling yourself and your work to a potential employer.

The goal of this project will be to upgrade my present website and restart from scratch, as the previous version hasn’t been updated in over ten years. The new portfolio will bring together all of my prior work on this website and demonstrate my flexibility. In addition, I will utilise the portfolio as my virtual business card to advertise myself for future job searches. Aside from that, it will be an opportunity for me to demonstrate my coding skills by creating this portfolio from scratch.

Target audience

Our primary audience will be potential employers and recruiters from agencies or firms looking for my skills. Mainly, the profile of these persons on this position is: Male Skew 28 to 36 year-old Medium to high income Post graduated However, it will be a good chance to target people with similar profiles to mine in order to build a network in this field. However, the primary focus should be on potential employers or recruiters.

Project scope – functionality and features

The project will be a very simple and basic website that will enable the content to show more than the website itself. However, certain evident characteristics will be present, such as:

  • Bootstrap
  • Responsive
  • Zoom In / Out for images
  • Video implementations
  • Contact form
  • Professional Social media link
  • Host on professional domain
  • Analytics tags
  • Accessibility features

Core structure, including sitemap and basic wireframes

Structure is straightforward: The navigation will float to the left like a «pill,» and the primary content will be shown over the whole page, taking up all available space. When you click on a category, a tab containing the various works will appear, and clicking on it will reveal the content.

Design considerations

The logo will be shown at the top of the menu; I picked the colour black with a bright gradient to represent my own «business.» The colour black is widely recognised for complementing practically every other colour. It makes other colours look more vibrant. When texture distinguishes them, even extremely dark colours can work nicely with black. When used with white, it creates a striking contrast. To achieve this contrast, the website will primarily be white or employ white and light grey. White provides a sense of serenity and quiet, as well as hope and comfort. It brings about a sense of order and efficiency. Giving the appearance of a modern and sleek design

In terms of typefaces, it will use future traits to be consistent with design concerns. To begin, choose a «sans-serif» font, and then use fundamental and popular fonts found on many computers, such as «Open sans» or «Helvetica,» to ensure compatibility with the majority of machines.

The graphic components will take up the most of the space on the page, with some white space in between to add some daring. To avoid part of the elements being highlighted, all of them must be on the same level. A chronological sequence will be prefered, beginning with the most current and progressing to the oldest.

Content overview

The majority of the content will be collected from my prior works. Because I have many skills, my portfolio will include a variety of formats and works. Everything will be available immediately on the website, whether it is the material itself or a link that allows it to be download and seen on a certain programme.

The majority of the content used will be:

  • Images
  • Videos
  • Figma Files
  • Websites
  • PDF
